Dear Alexa Joy,

I can imagine what you’d be,

Red hair, green eyes and full of curiosity,

I imagine you would laugh in the face of adversity,

You’d be courageous, your smile contagious, your heart full of hopes of what could be.

You’d be my heart and joy,

You’d bring ‘round all the boys,

Who were enamored by your beauty oh so sweet,

You would do great things,

And show great love,

To all of those who need the hope you bring.

You’d sing like your mother,

And love like the God who created you,

And I can’t help but miss you,

I wish I could have known you,

But God had other plans for you,

I would never clean your scrapes,

Or wipe tears from your face,

But God chose to spare you of those things that make us cry.

You’d never know the fears,

The trails that come with years,

And sickness you would never have to face.

My dear Alexa Joy,

I named you after a little girl that I once met,

Who in her fear came to me who showed her safety in my arms.

You would have been my pride and joy,

You were named my Joy,

After my sister who I wish you could have met.

You would be four years old now,

I wish I could show you how,

Much your Mama misses you,

Your Mama loves you,

And she is coming home to be with you soon.

Dear Alexa Joy,

I can imagine what you’d be,

Red hair, green eyes, and full of curiosity.
